I like Open Atrium for the basis of our company intranet. We are SaaS and software company, very virtual, but now have several normal depts, such as sales/marketing, dev/qa, support etc. OA seems like an excellent foundation of a self hosted extensible app for our intranet. We are not a drupal shop, but we do know php and I figure we can grab some drupal developers when we need to.
The first thing i looked for was the add-ons for OA. I could not find any. I figured the app was new and add-ons where coming.
I installed OA anyway, mainly becuase of the straight forward group and notebook ability. That was three weeks ago (i think).
Today i find Contributed Features section. purely by accident, i believe located in the documentation section.
My feedback is as follows:
After reviewing the feature servers, it is not clear to me how to actually install one of these features. A high level overview would be great. ( i hope that by downloading one of them the instructions will be included)
I would promote this as its own group here on the community. Or something to make it stand RIGHT OUT as HEY WE HAVE ADD-ONS LOOK HERE @_@ >>>>
